Buckle up! The drumming legend returns! Having evolved even further beyond its 30th anniversary, YAMATO: The Drummers of Japan ignite the stage with the pulsating power of taiko drumming. This production unleashes the energy of over 40 drums, including the awe-inspiring odaiko, a 500-kg, two-metre-diameter giant carved from a 400-year-old tree. Their thunderous rhythms reverberate through the theatre, while the delicate strains of the shamisen, koto and shinobue add emotional depth, stirring the soul of every audience member. 

Hinotori merges centuries-old tradition and masterful musical arrangements with modern stagecraft for a new presentation of Japanese instruments. With 11 drummers in colourful costumes, the troupe pushes their physical limits to embody the resilience of the phoenix.
